RCB Ends 17-Year Drought at Chepauk! CSK Stunned as Bengaluru Dominates IPL 2025 Clash

A Historic Night for Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Chepauk
.        RCB Celebration

It was a night to remember for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and their passionate fans. The long-standing Chepauk curse was finally broken as RCB outclassed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 50 runs in their own backyard. A victory that had eluded them for 17 years was finally achieved in spectacular fashion in IPL 2025. The last time RCB had tasted victory at MA Chidambaram Stadium was way back in 2008. But on this Friday night, history was rewritten!

Rajat Patidar's Gritty Knock and Tim David's Late Fireworks Propel RCB to 196
.      Player of the match (Rajat)

Batting first, RCB set the tone with an aggressive start. Rajat Patidar led from the front with a stellar 51 off 32 balls, crafting his innings with elegance and power. Phil Salt's fiery 32 off 16 and Devdutt Padikkal’s explosive 27 off 14 gave the visitors the perfect launchpad. However, it was Tim David who stole the show towards the end. His quickfire 22* off just 8 balls, featuring a hat-trick of sixes, gave RCB the finishing kick they needed, pushing their total to a formidable 196/7.
For CSK, the bright spot in an otherwise tough bowling display was Noor Ahmad. The Afghan spinner turned heads with his brilliant spell of 3/36, picking up key wickets at crucial junctures. He is now first in purple cap. But the rest of the CSK attack struggled to contain RCB’s aggressive batting approach.

CSK’s Batting Crumbles Under RCB’s Ruthless Bowling
Chasing 197, CSK never looked comfortable. RCB’s bowlers came out with intent, executing their plans to perfection. The home crowd, accustomed to CSK’s dominance at Chepauk, was left in disbelief as wickets kept tumbling.
Josh Hazlewood was the wrecker-in-chief, rattling the CSK batting order with figures of 3/21. He bowled with precision, making life miserable for the Chennai batters. Yash Dayal and Liam Livingstone also joined the party, picking up two wickets each to further dent CSK’s hopes. The hosts struggled to stitch together meaningful partnerships, and their chase fizzled out in disappointment.

RCB Celebrates a Historic Triumph

As the final wicket fell, RCB players erupted in joy, knowing they had finally exorcised the ghosts of the past. It wasn’t just a win; it was a statement. The Bengaluru-based franchise, often criticized for their performances in crunch games, had delivered a clinical and dominant show at one of the toughest venues in the IPL.

For CSK, it was a rare sight—losing so convincingly at their fortress. The Men in Yellow will have to regroup and find answers quickly as the tournament progresses.

But for RCB fans, this was a night of celebration, a night where past heartbreaks were washed away by the sweet taste of victory. The Chepauk fortress had been breached, and RCB had finally claimed what was rightfully theirs—glory in Chennai!

The ideal xi for CSK can be different, especially

1 Conway✈️
2 Rutu
3 Rachin / V Shakar
4 Tripathi
5 Dube
6 Jadeja
7 Dhoni
8 Ashwin

Would suggest this to CsK. Get back to basics.
